Members of international dating sites often wonder what life is like on the other side of the computer screen. Millions of men are attracted to Ukrainian women and many topics of their discussions involve the daily life in Ukraine and how it compares to life elsewhere.
The way Ukrainians clean their clothes is affected by the fact that most people don’t own dryers. Clothes lines on balconies are where the drying is done, which can cause problems during the freezing temperatures of winter. Sometimes the clothes don’t dry completely and ironing is done to help heat the garments while removing the wrinkles. While many households do use modern washing machines, some still own the old Soviet style machines that involve a more manual process. Water has to be poured in and then drained afterward. They also must wring out as much excess water as possible by hand, before hanging on the lines to dry. Read more...

It is important for the inventory of DVD’s to be substantial and that the inventory be diverse as possible. But both companies are also really good at this and at very little or no wait time on most of the movies, even some of the most popular releases. This is probably due to both the companies working some kind of deals with the movie studios to make sure they can burn their own DVD’s because of customer demand.
Since Blu-Ray seems to be popular both companies have switched to this high definition media. Each one of the companies (Netflix vs Blockbuster )stock very good selections of Blu-Ray titles and they do a good job of keeping up with the new releases. Blockbuster doesn’t seem to have many copies in stock and routinely marks these movies as short, long or very long waits. Netflix does a little better in this aspect but still has some delays. So for Blu-Ray fans, it is probably the easiest to get Blu-Ray through Netflix.
With shipping centers being 76+, Netflix has Blockbuster doubled in this area. But keep in mind that Blockbuster has a couple hundred stores that can be accessed with the Total Access plan they have. Both of the companies get DVD’s to their customers within one day if you are within close proximity to a major or medium sized city. Read more...

Most people wouldn’t even begin to imagine the humble origins of Bollywood. Indian cinema can be attributed to the two great ancient epics of India, the Ramayana and the Mahabharata which have provided a solid foundation for much of India’s commercial cinema today which is fondly referred to as Bollywood.
Early Indian cinema took on the role of delivering a distinct moral code particularly when the Mahatma Gandhi-led national movement was at its peak. It was unsurprising that most Bollywood directors and screenplay writers were partial to the Gandhian philosophy. Many directors were passionate about making their films a vehicle for messages of social reform.
During Mahatma Gandhi’s era, Indian commercial cinema reflected Mahatma’s social concerns. Caste based inequalities were tackled in films like Sujata, Acchut and Haasil. Dil Ek Mandir focussed on the oppression of women in family and society. And most prominent perhaps which seems to be most relevant in Bollywood films today is the disparity between rich and poor in films like Pyaasa, Lawaaris and Jaagte Raho. Read more...

For me as a child, neither Christmas nor birthdays would have been complete without a present of a new book. I still love them. They are such satisfyingly tactile objects – I just love the smell, the feel of them.
You might call me a bibliophile these days, even though it does rather sound like someone very fond of his bottle ! While I do still enjoy the sensation of holding and smelling a book, I generally enjoy reading them even more !
The years 1999 and 2000 were bad years in the IT business – remember the Y2K scare ? It caused immense problems for me, as a result of which I lost the substantial business I had built up and of course my livelihood. This meant I had to build a new career from scratch. Luckily, I was able to purchase a small bookbinding business, which suited me perfectly because of my love of books, despite the fact that I had to learn the business from my employees ! The business bound theses for students, as well as archival work for a major university and a number of big law firms. We also had a thriving trade in restoring books for local collectors and dealers, as well as restoring specially purchased books which I subsequently sold on the internet. Read more...

Wooden toy trucks have been favorite toys for children for decades. We all know why parents like them so well – they’re safe, there aren’t any sharp edges or pieces that may break off and become a choking hazard and they are durable. But with all the remote control toys and electronic toys that talk and play games, why would a kid still prefer a simple wooden truck or car to play with?
The answer is simple. Because wooden toys allow your child to use his own imagination and pretend to be whatever he wants to be. A wooden toy does not speak to your child and tell him he must pretend to be an action figure. And a wooden toy doesn’t stop moving around the floor when the batteries run out. But a wooden truck, simply because it does not make a noise like a truck or automatically move about like a truck, allows your child to pretend it’s much more than a truck if he wants to. It can be an ambulance or a firetruck or an airplane or even a horse because the toy itself is not made in such a way that it limits his imagination. Read more...

Entertaining skits and comedy films make us giggle and even cry our self out for joy. Sad shows provide us with a lot of lessons about life. Love stories give us encouragement to fall in love again. Frightening and horror movies make us jump from our seats and hide. No matter what the kind of picture could be, when we watch them in theaters, they provide us with a different feeling.

A Steady Rain is a different type of live performance, one that only has a cast of two with very limited to no scenery. This production first aired in 2006, with great reviews, and came back in 2008 to the Royal George Theatre. The performance was such a hit, that it made an appearance on Broadway. The cast of two — Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig — will tell the story of two old friends for 12 short weeks.
The two men, in Steady Rain, are old friends who also happen to be cops. The story tells of their friendship, their trials and tribulations, and of the event that changed their lives forever. One evening, while on duty, Jackman and Craig receive a call for a domestic abuse case. This call and evening, they both believe, should be no different than others.
However, this evening would prove to be one of the worst in their careers and lives. The men go to the call where they are face to face with a man who tells them everything is okay and that the little boy is his nephew and there are no worries. After assessing the scene, the men decide it is best to be on their way. Unfortunately, after everything comes to light, it is too late for the boy as he had been the latest victim of a serial killer. This is the night these men’s lives and friendship change. Read more...

Robot playthings are becoming much more sophisticated with much more movable parts, programming as well as engineering that may easily be utilized in real world applications and lifelike movements.
Present robot playthings are lifelike and differ very much from the views at the beginning of the Western atomic age. Robot toys respond, receive and perform commands, attempt to converse and also entertain our children. These toys are marvels of robotic toy history as they are inexpensive as well as available to most families. This allows for robotic toys such as the Femisapien, by WowWee, to exist. The Femisapien can converse and also respond to touch, sound and hand motions. She is given the female gender type as well as is extremely intelligent. She talks her own language called “emotish” composing of soft sounds and gestures that can let you know what she is pondering at the moment. Even though it has really serious engineering included, there’s several play features of the Femisapien for example dance and comedy acts that she is capable of doing when music is playing or perhaps when she gets bored.
