Rolling a new character again and I’m feeling a little ambivalent. Looking forward to it on the one had, but a few little niggles keeping me from totally throwing myself into the experience.
Ok, the great thing is trying out a new class combination and anticipating the adventures ahead. However, I’m also aware that much of what I’m about to do I have done many (many) times in the past.
It’s not that much of an issue though. I’m soon happy with the idea of the new possibilities the character will bring.
However, once I actually get into the character generation screen, another problem. The characters themselves. They all seem so limited.
The preset character faces and customization options seem so limited.
For me the humans are worse (perhaps it’s familiarity). They seem a weird looking bunch. They lack real definition. Apart from the hair and piercing there seems little to choose between one character and the next. The looks are also getting very old , both in terms of the number of times I’ve seen them, and the graphical detail that now seems so “2005″. Read more...
