Like millions of other Americans I love going to the movie theater. One of the things I look forward to the most is the food available there. Okay, I know it’s not the healthiest in the world, and is vastly overpriced, but it’s good to treat yourself once in a while and it enhances the experience for me.
There is a vast array of food available in movie theaters and here are some of my favorites. See if yours is here.
First up there’s the delicious nachos. These salty chips and hot cheese compliment my soda perfectly and are very satisfying. The only downside is trying not to make too much noise through the movies.
If you are watching the calories but still want a tasty movie food, I recommend pretzel bites. These first appeared in our theaters in the 1990’s and have remained a firm favorite with movie goers ever since. The small hot pretzel pieces are even more delicious if you dip them in cheese. The low fat content makes them even more appealing.
If you prefer candy to savory snacks, the Sour Patch Kids has long been one of the biggest sellers in our movie theaters. The contrast between sweet and sour is extremely popular, and these small candies are really addictive. Read more...

The foundation of Rome was laid about 2,700 years ago. As the center of the Roman Empire, it has been an important part of the European history in centuries. Today it is the center of the Catholic Church. So wherever you go, you will see remains of the ancient Rome.
One of the most impressive relics of the ancient Rome is the Coliseum. It is the largest amphitheatre in the city, and originally it had room for 55,000 spectators. Here the citizens of the city could be entertained with gladiator fights and fighting against wild animals.
The Coliseum was built in 72 AD buy Emperor Vespasian. Then there were coliseums all around the large Roman Empire; from Arles and Nimes in France to El Djem in the northern part of Africa. Today the Coliseum is damaged by destructions, thefts and missing maintenance; but is still a sight not to miss.
Another must see sight in Rome is the St. Peter’s Basilica; also named the St. Peter’s Cathedral. This building is almost the definition of the Vatican State. Belts are an ancient tool that was used both as decorative item and as a symbolic piece of clothing accessory. It could also be used as a sign of authority with buckles that had special stamps and seals on them. One thing all belts have in common, ancient or modern is that it is used to help with suspending ones clothing. In its early days belts were worn mostly by men.
Belts in the modern sense were not worn until the early part of the 20th century. During this time trousers or pants became popular and both adult males and children started wearing them. But it was not only the waist belt that was used but suspenders also especially for children because it is easier to put it on and take it off.
Wearing of the belt even today can also be to give the wearer a “complete” look when fully dressed. That is even if the pants or shorts are tight enough around the waist; the belt gives the wearer a well dressed appearance similar to wearing a tie.
